Description ofDomaine du Grand Pic - Lac Lyster - Estrie
This cottage built in 2010 in a clearing in the forest on a 60,000 sq.ft. site crossed by a stream, is located in Baldwin Mills, in the Eastern Townships, near Coaticook and the Vermont boarder.
It's at less than 300 feet from the Lake Lyster's beach, but at the same time isolated to assure you tranquility, relaxation and calm, all things we need more and more often these days. If you like activities requiring more energy or risks, you can climb the Pinacle's cliff that drop in the lake (665 m). Or be content with hiking trails that lead you at summit of the Pinacle to enjoy the splendid sight of mountains, lakes and landscapes in surrounding area and as far as Vermont.
Lake Lyster's Golf course, 2 min. by car, Coaticook's Golf course, 15 km away and many more in less than an hour drive. Other sports nearby: trout fishing (boat rental) on Lake Baldwin, 2 min. away. Volleyball at the beach and activity park for kids. Also kayak, pedalo canoe rentals. Bring your bicycle, tennis racket (court accross the beach), sailing board or boat, fishing gear (bass and grey trout). Tough competition from the loons! Visit Parc Decouverte Nature's fishing farm and facilities. Cross the world's longest suspended foot bridge over the Gorge in Coaticook, shop around for local products, participate in different events or admire the autumn colors. In winter, enjoy snowshoe trails, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. There are also many skiing resorts in less than an hour drive: Jay Peak in Vermont, Owl's Head and Orford in Quebec.
Or, why not, just doing absolutely nothing.
On the first floor, all the space is designed for easy circulation for people with reduced mobility. One bedroom with Queen bed, a spacious bathroom with a large full access shower (40 in. x 90 in.), a full equipped kitchen with central block (4 ft. between block and counters), washer/dryer, dining room opened on the living room with a fire place. A garden door gives access to a covered huge patio (14 ft x 20 ft).
At the garden level, downstairs, you have a bathroom with tub, 2 other bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with 2 twin bed. There is also another living room with TV, a wood stove and 2 garden doors for access to the second exterior covered patio and the outdoor fire place. The second and first floors are accessible for wheelchairs by the outside.
You will fin nearby, other than the beach and activities, a little general store, 2 churches and a very good Steak House: the J-Bar-C, well known in the region for its delicious steaks an its very special country western decoration (open in the summer only). Beautiful terrace offering an incredible panarama of the lake.

Rates available on request. Rates will vary according to season, long holiday week-ends and lenght of stay.
Week-end 2 nights: 250$ to 350$, from Friday 5h00 pm to Sunday 4h00 pm;
Week-end 3 nights: 350$ to 450$, from Friday 5h00 pm to Monday 12h00 (noon) (can be different according to the holidays);
Week of 5 days (4 nights): 550$ to 900$, from Monday 5h00 pm to Friday 12h00 (noon);
Week of 7 days (6 nights): 700$ to 1000$, from Friday 5h00 pm to Friday 12h00 (noon);
Month: 2380$ to 3320$ (check in and check out to be discussed)
Season: 6000$ (check in and check out to be discussed)
Beetween July 6th and August 6th, also for between dec. 17th and jan. 7th: 7 days minimum.
50% of rent amount is requested for confirmation of reservation (non refundable in case of cancellation), the other 50% is exigible on arrival. Both in cash, certified check or postal money order. A security deposit is requested on arrival. The amount will vary according the lenght of stay and number of people. In cash please. This amount is refundable if the place is in good condition on departure. The refund will be made on departure or within 10 days at the latest.
