It will take 2.5 hour drive south from Anchorage gets you to Seward which is a booming tourist destination that offers many exciting activities in busy harbor, old-fashioned shops and galleries, and many different ways to get to know the area and have fun. Every 4th of July, amazing event take place in this lovely town and estimated 25,000 people come to witness this 3,022-foot race up and down Mount Marathon. The run is accompanied by many different and exciting, entertaining events such as live music, street fair, barbecues and many more.
Willow and Hatcher Pass areas from lodges to bed and breakfasts you will find many places dwell. Willow also has several lakes for fishing, and is not far from Denali National Park. Looking for family excitement activities, snowshoeing, skiing and snowboarding are just some of them that you can take part in Willow or go for historic Independence Mine to hiking some of the many trails.
City of Soldotna located at the heart of the Kenai Peninsula; there are recreational opportunities for residents and visitors year round. With over 2,800 feet of elevated boardwalk and more than 200 campsites offer sightseeing or hiking to everyone and moreover snowmobile and cross-country skiing trails are accessible; Soldotna offer excellent accommodations, along with various restaurants with wide variety of cuisine.
Wherever you are on Kodiak you experience the nature in everywhere. Bear-viewing is one of the most popular activities on Kodiak Island. July, August and September are better time to see the bears and you will have more chance to see them by joining a variety of backcountry trips to Kodiak National Wildlife Refuge or Katmai National Park. Visiting anglers can decide from a wide collection of fishing experiences including remote fishing, charters or road system fishing. You can also play golf or go for a scuba diving and of course you will have exciting activities during the winter time.
