Big Chute Travel Guide
Farlian Lake is located in Simcoe County
in Ontario. It is 90 minutes north
of Toronto and 15 minutes north of Midland. Farlain Lake is shaped like a finger
because a narrow gouge was scraped by an arctic glacier. This is a spring fed lake
that is two and a half miles long and about three-fourths of a mile wide. The region
around this lake is open for visitors and residents who take a particular interest
in maintaining the quality of water in the lake. Since a large number of people
depend on a small lake, they take additional measures to create an environment-friendly
lifestyle.
The area surrounding the lake is great for casual strolls and fun picnics. The beauty
of this place can transport visitors to a different world and the environment-friendly
ways of the residents can provide a different experience for visitors. The sandy
waterfront surrounding the lake relaxes the mind and body and brings about a sense
of calmness. The local Government organizes picnics and game days during the summer
for both residents and visitors and these are excellent opportunities to explore
Farlain Lake. Annual boat parades and the elusive Farlain Lake monster are other
attractions here. Awenda Provincial park is located five minutes from Farlain lake
and contains some of the best trails in the region that are ideal for biking, hiking
and cross country skiing.
Farlain Lake has a few options when it comes to accommodation and dining. There
are a few cottages that offer breathtaking views of the lake. A good option is to
stay in a bigger place like Midlands and travel to Farlain Lake to enjoy its beauty.
